Q. Is this a permanent change?
A. The stickers used by Kowal Portable are specifically designed to protect the surface of your laptop and to be removed with no gummy residue. The only exception to this regards your keys. If your computer comes with black keys, then the stickers can be removed. If, however, your keys are another color, we will need to black them with enamel paint to complete the illusion.
Q. What happens when I place an order with you?
A. We’ll create the stickers for your laptop, using the specifications you provide (laptop model, color and wood choices). Before we print the stickers, we send you a pdf showing you what the stickers will look like to approve. As soon as we get your okay, we print the stickers.
Now, if you requested a Do-It-Yourself kit, then we send the kit to you, with instructions.
If, on the other hand, you want us to do the modification, then, when the stickers are ready, we ask you to ship your laptop to us. Our goal is to send the laptop back to you the day after we receive it. How fast that is depends on your shipping choice.
Q. Why can’t I place an order from overseas?
A. Sadly, the shipping costs are prohibitive. We are sorry about that.
Q. It’s just stickers, why shouldn’t I just design one at home?
A. Just stickers? We think not. These are designed to protect your laptop as well as beautify it. In addition the Kowal Portable comes with real wood detailing.
Q. Is the Kowal No. 1 the only design you have?
A. We will be releasing the Kowal No. 2 in 2008.
Q. What is a Pantone color?
A. Pantone colors are a proprietary system of color chips, which advertising and graphic designers use because they have a high degree of consistency. For best accuracy, visit a designer or art supply store to look at a physical sample book. We recommend looking at the Coated colors. There are also several online guides which can give you the range of colors available.
